Riddle #36

Without a partner, I sit here mutely,My grace and beauty for you to reckon.Bright head above a regal neck, soft curves,And promise of my rich voice do beckon.I’m inevitably hollow, the fretful type,But with practice, I could be your soul mate:If you hold me just right, I’ll resonate your spiritIn faultless pitch, your song to elevate.

It has to be a guitar. Harps aren’t hollow and don’t have frets.

It can’t be a cello, cellos aren’t fretted. Neither are stand-up basses. My guess is for guitar or violin/ viola.

yeah i reckon guitar too but now there are eleven answers and everyone’s shouting “GUITAR, GUITAR I KNOW IT’S GUITAR” kind of pointlessly so i figure one more voice in the mix can’t hurt.

Sorry, i have to disagree with guitar. “without a partner, I’m mute” … could mean the player, but I think a good riddle would be referring to a ‘partner’ to the character of the riddle, another object, like a bow… any other thoughts?

    Bard you’re onto something.

but most times you play a guitar with a PICK. Guitar still holds true

You don’t have to play a guitar with a pick, it works just fine with just your fingers, it wouldn’t be mute.

It’s a violin for sure…they are hollow and u ahve to ahve that stick thingy to play it and it says with practice…it takes loads of practice mroe than a guitar…besides it says with grace and beauty and such its not talkin about a guitar lol
