    It can not be air as air fills anything even a bowl, if you put your head on the bowl would you die? No. So I haven’t even got the foggiest idea.

    There are variations of this riddle I have seen and heard. To this one the answer is Smoke, if you replace house with hill then it should be mist however I think this is a variation of the original because you can gather/fill a bowl with mist.
    Mellow, how can a hole full of mist not make any sense? Visit the neighborhood graveyard at night and see if you change your mind. (Best trick-or-treat area EVER period )
